The LGA (Local Government Alliance is holding a Fair Trades Conference at Rotherham on Thursday 13th September 2007.

The conference is being hosted by the Rotherham Metropolitain Borough Council to encourage more councils and communities to become part of the Fair Trade and discover the benefits of becoming a Fair Trade Community.

Details can be found here

This is one of the lowest priced conferences we have found so far, at only £40 for council delegates or a mere £20 for volunteers/campaigners which should (in my opinion) include twinning groups.

This could be a great opportunity to expand your portfolio opportunities and perhaps lead to links with communities your area would not otherwise have considered.

In the current opinion that "twinning" per se, is becoming a bit old hat, perhaps we should be looking for these types of expansion opportunities to keep an interest in our activities.
