We have received an enquiry from Alan Neath, the webmaster of www.Aldridge-web.com , the local website of Aldridge in Staffordshire, near to Walsall.
Alan has found reference in an old booklet to a towntwinning link between Aldridge and Montelimar in France. This reference was dated 1964, but he can not find any trace of a current link or activity between the two towns. We are therefore asking, does anyone from that area know what happened to this link, how long was it in existance and when did it finally cease. Even if the link is now no longer official, there is the possibility that some of the original participants may still have individual links with the area, if so, we would like to hear from you. Apropos of nothing at all relevant to the request, I notice (from /google) that Montelimar has a "rue Aldridge", so evidently the link was strong enough at that time (whenever it was) to put a "permanent" seal on the relationship!

I have spoken to Alan Neath today and passed this information on to him, also, this morning I received a telephone call from his local newspaper who are following up the story and wanted some background information on Town Twinning. Alan -------------------- Alan (Admin)
