Due to the economic situation many councils are looking for ways to save money and one of the prime targets is, in many cases, the towns twinning links
A case in point is Doncaster where the new mayor has decided to scrap all twinning links, irrrespective of how long they have been going, how active they are or how beneficial they can be to the residents of Doncaster, However, Mr Colin Jeynes, a former chief executive of Doncaster is trying to bring all the links together under one umbrella organisation if the mayors plans come to fruition. Read the story here We wish Mr Jeynes and his colleagues good luck in their mission but remember, this is only one of many towns where the councils are considering the same actions. If anyone knows of any towns in a similar situation please let us know, and if there is anything we can do to help any groups go independent from the councils we would be delighted ot help if we can Alan -------------------- Alan (Admin)
