This is an appeal which, although not Twinning related, I do feel is worth a few moments of your time.
The appeal is not for money, just for moral support for our servicemen who are injured in the ever increasing action theatres around the world.
Whatever your feelings about the legality or justification for the current conflicts we need to remember the individuals who have no choice in the matters and are just doing their duty for their country.
Many of the serving personnel victims of these conflicts are treated and rehabilitated at Headley Court in Surrey, but there are not sufficient suitable facilities in the area and there is therefore a proposal to purchase a property nearby for the families to be able to visit their injured loved ones. It is a well known fact that the presence of the family is an important part of the rehabilitation of these men and women who have been in bomb blast, lost limbs etc.
Please visit http://www.36grayslane.co.uk/ and read about it, if then you wish to show your support and compassion for the project then visit the 10 Downing Street Petition website at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Headley/ and sign up.
Thank you for your time.
Alan
