As part of the proposals for accession of Turkey to the European Community there are plans to twin Turkish Communities with EU Communities to promote mutal understanding, to quote - twinning between Turkish and EU Cities with a view to improving their mutual knowledge, developing common projects, organising seminars on topics of common interest,and encouraging participation at grass roots level".
